About public statistics
Public statistics is a system for collecting, storing, and compiling statistical data, as well as announcing, sharing, and disseminating the results of statistical research. The mission of official statistics is to provide reliable, accurate, independent, and high-quality data that meets the needs of domestic and foreign users.
Our work is based on the principles of reliable, objective, professional, and independent statistical research, the results of which constitute official statistical data. We all contribute to official statistics.
We attach great importance to regular statistical surveys. They are important for the continuous observation of fundamental areas of life and phenomena in our country. We conduct cyclical research on an ongoing basis, including censuses and studies comparing previous results. This makes it possible to plan and implement specific local, regional, and national policies. We disseminate the resulting statistical data in accordance with three fundamental principles, i.e.:
- Equality – everyone has the right to access our data
- Equivalence – we do not discriminate between entities to whom we provide data
- Simultaneity – data is provided to all entities at the same time
